The Department of Health and Human Services, Developmental Disabilities (DD) Division, is looking for a Disability Services Specialist to join our team! The successful candidate will have a high personal standard of integrity, display a constant commitment to excellence and share in our mission of Helping People Live Better Lives.
Examples of Work:
Under limited supervision, determine initial and ongoing eligibility for Home and Community Based Medicaid Waivers for adults and children with DD and authorize waiver services. Perform professional level review and evaluation based on statute of documentation submitted with application for DD services. Administer assessments related to individual's skills, abilities, and adaptive functioning. Work with state and community agencies, providers, individuals and families. Assist with DD projects and initiatives. In-state travel required.
Qualifications / Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree and professional experience in: education, psychology, social work, sociology, human services, or a related field and experience in services or programs for person with intellectual or other developmental disabilities.
PREFERRED: Minimum of one year experience in a service coordination role or case management for people with an intellectual or developmental disability. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous experience in assessing adaptive skill needs is desirable.
OTHER: May need to flex work schedule on occasion based on work projects/requirements. Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to objectively review/assess information and apply regulatory requirements. Ability to communicate effectively and function as team leader, team member, work independently, organize and effectively manage workload. Ability to review online records/documents is essential for the position.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
